5 Bright and Romantic Wedding Trends for Spring 2015

January 28, 2015 | Posted in Trends

Spring 2015 is promising to be one of the brightest wedding seasons in years. Future brides and grooms aren’t shying away from bright colors and whimsical accents when it comes to wedding themes. You can expect to see plenty of pastels and wild flowers at the wedding venues NJ couples flock to for their spring nuptials. Are you looking for simple ways to brighten your big day? Follow the season’s five sweetest trends to create a wedding celebration that is as beautiful and vibrant as a spring garden in bloom. Want more ideas? Our event coordinators love drooling over wedding details, and are always happy to help!

Natural Bouquets
You won’t see many prim and proper bouquets getting tossed in the air this wedding season. The current trend favors unstructured bouquets over tight bundles of roses. The goal is to walk down the aisle carrying a bouquet that looks like it was just picked from the wild in the moments before you arrived at the altar. You can accentuate your floral ensemble with tulips, sweet peas, rose buds, orchids and ferns to create a natural look.

Cake Trends
We expect to see cakes topped with dollops of sweet, fluffy deliciousness at the wedding venues NJ brides and grooms will be choosing this year. Buttercream cakes are all the rage for spring. This palate-pleasing icing lends itself to tons of texture options – go for smooth, striped, or a wild “brush stroke” finish. Buttercream is set to overtake the stiff fondant cakes that have been a staple at weddings for the past decade. Another major cake trend for spring… naked cakes! They’re not as risqué as they sound.

Bridal Dress Trends
This year’s fashion runways have set the tone for what brides will be wearing when they march down the aisle in the spring. You can expect your fellow spring brides to walk down the aisle wearing classic bridal dresses that are embellished with cutouts, hints of lace, or oversized bows. Current trends place the focus on making brides look fun and feminine. Or if you feel like breaking away from tradition, you’re in good company! More than ever, brides are opting for short dresses or gowns in nontraditional colors. I you’re pretty in pink or fabulous flaunting gold, then go for it.

Bow Ties
Hip grooms everywhere will be sporting bow ties in 2015. This accessory is the easiest way to add a pop of color to a traditional tuxedo. A bow tie can be matched to a bride’s bouquet or selected in the same color as the dresses of the bridal party. Bold grooms are manning up with statement patterns in plaid, checks, hounds tooth, or paisley. And once you’ve picked the color and pattern, why not match the socks? Brides aren’t the only ones having fun with bright, cheeky accessories this season.

Pastel Dresses
Pastel colors are in when it comes to bridal party dresses (and even bridal gowns). Try mixing it up with a few pastel hues, or pick one color and vary the shades for a pretty ombre effect. For spring or any time of year, we love the look of pastels plus metallics. Petal pink and gold. Seafoam and copper. It’s hard and soft, for a girly look with an edge. Whatever color combo you choose… chances are we offer napkins and place cards to match! Let us know what color combos are making your heart go pitter patter this season.
