Thursday Night Weddings: YAY or NAY?

It’s a YAY from us!

The Thursday Night Wedding trend has been emerging since post-covid and we don’t see it dying anytime soon! Recently, we’ve seen tons of couples ditch the traditional Saturday wedding to save a few bucks and kick-off their wedding weekend early. After all, Thursday night is the start of the weekend!

BUDGET-FRIENDLY BRILLIANCE

Having the wedding of your dreams, shouldn’t break the bank. By selecting a Thursday night wedding, you’ll often notice that the price magically decreases. Many venues, including the Sterling Ballroom, have a lower rate per person for Thursday night, when compared to the usual Friday or Saturday night pricing. This is an ideal choice for couples on a budget. By saving money on the venue, you can allocate more money to your Honeymoon!

THE WEEKEND WAITLIST

The high demand of Friday and Saturday weddings can cause venues and vendors to be booked out very far in advance. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice your dream venue or your ideal vendors. This is where Thursday Night comes into play! With lower demand for weekday weddings, it’ll be easier to secure those sought-out vendors who are typically booked up on weekends. Thursday nights open a new world of availability and opportunity to make your dream wedding come to life.

TURN IT INTO A WEEKEND AFFAIR

When it comes to Saturday weddings, guests typically hit the road come Sunday morning, but with a Thursday night wedding – the weekend has just begun! Your Thursday night wedding is just the kick-off to a fun-filled weekend with loved ones. The Sterling Ballroom is located at the DoubleTree Hilton of Tinton Falls which is extremely convenient for guests. You can extend the celebration with a post-wedding breakfast or brunch Friday morning and then follow it up with an outing to a local attraction. Enjoy the nearby beaches and boardwalks of the Jersey Shore, try your luck at the Monmouth Park Racetrack or unwind at The Fox Hallow Winery. Our hotel offers a post-wedding breakfast package, room blocks for your guests and amenities such as an outdoor pool where your guests can soak up the sun and celebrate the newlyweds!

WASH YOUR WORRIES AWAY, WE HAVE SOLUTIONS

Some couples are hesitant when it comes to a bold Thursday night wedding. One major concern is guests getting time off work and the guests coming from out of town. We suggest sending your Save the Dates out extremely early giving guests an ample amount of notice to request time off work and arrange their schedules. Your out-of-town guests can save money by attending a weekday wedding. Airfare, hotel rates and Uber rides are all cheaper during the week. Our hotel, The DoubleTree Tinton Falls, also has a business center for any guests that may need to take a meeting or business call on Friday.

Another concern couples face is not loving the idea of a Wednesday-night Rehearsal Dinner. Years ago, couples used to have Rehearsal Dinners the weekend before. This way no one has to worry about a wedding day hangover! This is definitely a suitable option.
