Wedding Photo Tips When the Weather is Unpredictable

December 11, 2018 | Posted in Trends, Uncategorized, Weddings

When you’ve set a wedding date in the rainy months of spring or snowy months of winter, you never know what mother nature is going to throw your way. Waking up on the day of your wedding to rain or snow might make you wonder how your wedding photos will come out. Perhaps you picked the perfect outdoor location, but wonder how the weather will impact your shots. Well, fear not. Many couples have had inclement weather sneak up on their wedding day and they managed to brave the storm and take some of the most stunning pictures.

Consider Using Your Wedding Venue

If the weather is really bad and you don’t want to end up drenched on your big day you can ask the wedding specialists about using an area in the venue to take your wedding photos. Lots of venues decorate the premises to correlate with the season and can accommodate your needs.

Use Props and Embrace it

We’ve had couples get married when it was storming out and instead of retreating indoors, they actually embraced it! Ask your wedding photographer if they have props that can be used in your wedding photos. As you can see above, these couples used umbrellas and even rain boots to weather the storm. The photos actually came out rather cool.

Go with The Flow

Your last option would be to just go with the flow. If the rain or snow isn’t too bad, you can take photos outside and capture it all on film. Just make sure that you’re bundled up as these brides pictured above are. See how the couples above look as if they’re on a magazine cover or inside a snow globe? It’s absolutely amazing how the weather can actually become a beautiful backdrop or canvas to add more magic to your already special day.

Don’t let something like snow or rain dampen what is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life. If mother nature isn’t as cooperative as she should be, there are always ways around it. You can take wedding photos indoors at your reception venue, venture outside using props, or bundle up and go with the flow. As you can see from the couples and weddings above, it all works out well in the end.
