My Son's Wedding Reception at Sterling Ballroom
DoubleTree in Tinton Falls and their Sterling Ballroom, all people involved in planning, execution, serving and servicing us and our guests for our son's wedding reception/hotel stay on May 19, 2013 EXCELLED in all possible fields. Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing us with the best memories possible of this wonderful event in our lives. It is so inspiring to know there are so many people who actually CARE about how they do their jobs, who think it is normal to go out of their way to please those they service. I wish I had another wedding reception to plan! All my guests commented on how pleasant the staff was, how attractively the rooms were decorated and the food displayed, and how delicious all the cocktail hour and reception food was. And a special thank you to Caitlin Jennings, who was the wedding coordinator we mainly dealt with, who was genuinely caring, always available and highly knowledgeable in all aspects of the event.
Our Day Was Absolutely Awesome!
Wedding Date: March 22, 2013
We got married at the Sterling Ballroom on March, 22, 2013. The day was absolutely awesome! The room was decorated beautifully; to my exact specifications and then some. I had forgotten a few things that I had put into my list, and they actually provided those small things for me so that I didn't have to run out and get them myself. Before our wedding, we had a few small issues with contract information that was not correct. The girls fixed it, but with some errors still. Finally, after a bunch of emails, it was fixed. The catering department was also having a few employee changes. Despite all of this stuff, our day was wonderful!!! The value of having our reception there was awesome. And the presidential suite is unparalleled. However, the HUGE shower stinks when it comes to taking an actual shower. I would have preferred a nice bathtub and a regular shower. I ended up showering in someone else's room. All in all- we had a great time and everything ended up working out. We really enjoyed working with this group of people and will refer them to others for weddings and other events.
4/10/2013 - Winter Wonderland Wedding

We had our reception here at the Sterling Ballroom in December. Everyone can't stop raving about how awesome the evening was. The process started with us meeting the catering sales director, who told us about the Winter Wonderland Package. What a great deal for everything we got! She was awesome; constantly emailing me back about any question/concern that I had and really made me feel special.
For cocktail hour, we had our own separate room filled with food and a server who came to get some drinks for the wedding party. The staff made sure everyone was shuttled into the ballroom for the reception. Then she helped line us up and told us Nemo would be able to take care of anything else we would need. As we were about to enter, I was told my seating chart was off and that some guests were missing seats. I figured it was something I would have to deal with yet before I got the chance to tell anyone, Nemo was rolling out another table and chairs to accommodate the guests who were misplaced. That was absolutely amazing. This really helped save the night. Nemo and every server there was so attentive. Always asking if we would like another drink or anything else we needed. Our food was amazing and the cake was to die for. We also got the chocolate fountain. People loved it. They kept the bar open so we didn't have to end at 11.
I’d highly recommend this venue to any bride. I don’t see a point in paying hundreds of dollars for 1 plate because the venue has great views. Go to the Sterling Ballroom for an amazing deal and for great service. Every person I dealt with was over-the-top nice and helpful. The only reason I gave responsiveness a 4 is because I had some difficulty getting in touch with the person who did our hotel room blocks. I ended up having to email a few different people, and I got a few strange responses. However, it was nothing that getting in touch with the catering sales director couldn't fix.
Guests are still raving about our wedding!
After looking at countless venues for our wedding, my husband and I chose The Sterling Ballroom because it was a one-stop-shop. We were able to have the ceremony, reception, and have our guests stay all in one place, and the price is EXTREMELY competitive. The facility itself is gorgeous and everyone I encountered was amazing. The wedding coordinator is fantastic. She was always available through email and responds practically immediately. She knew exactly what we had envisioned for our wedding and our day turned out to be better than we could have ever hoped for. Nemo, the maître d, was so accommodating the night of the wedding, constantly by our side, making sure everything was okay. The food was amazing and our guests are still raving about it! We had a large block of rooms and everyone was very happy with them. They offered breakfast the following morning, which was wonderful to see everyone before we left for our honeymoon. I don't think our wedding would have been nearly as good if we had it anywhere but Sterling! Book them, you won’t be disappointed!
Definitely The Best
I had my wedding on 3/1/13. Danielle and staff are amazing. They do not deserve 5 stars they deserve 10! My groomsmen are not an easy crowd to deal with. They are loud and Danielle had all the patience in the world. When I was feeling overwhelmed, she made me feel relaxed. Every time I emailed her about any concerns I had, she replied right away. She walked me through every step along the way. The night of was amazing. The staff made sure my husband and I had everything we needed. Also, the pricing was so reasonable and right in our budget!!! You guys are definitely the best. All my guests are still talking about our wedding. We could not thank you enough!
Wonderful February Wedding
The staff at the DoubleTree was amazing! They made sure everything was perfect. Danielle and Nemo were fantastic and helped make the whole day run so smoothly!!
My husband and I had our wedding here on October 27, 2012, and it was absolutely perfect. Danielle was incredibly helpful and did everything she could to make sure the night was exactly how we wanted it. She always made herself available and was there every time I had a question or concern. It was such a pleasure working with her. The staff is so kind and was always checking throughout the night to make sure things were going well. The food was delicious, the room looked amazing, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
An Amazing Wedding Night
We want to thank the staff of the Doubletree hotel and Sterling Ballroom for making our wedding an amazing night. We had a unique situation in that our caterer was out sick, but while she was sick she was still available by phone to answer any questions that we or the hotel staff had. I must add that we didn't even need to reach out because she was on top of everything even though she couldn't physically be there.
Our banquets Captain Nemo was a-ma-zing! Honestly, I was nervous when I didn't see Danielle there that things would go wrong, but he did everything in his power to make sure everything went well and made sure I was comfortable. He also went the extra mile assisting both my husband and myself because we were very sick ourselves the day of the wedding, so he made sure that we had ginger ale not champagne in our glasses, and that we were as comfortable as can be. He really, truly made sure that everything was perfect on our special day, and I am so thankful for him and the staff that were there to help.
I will add that the chef and cooks did an exceptional job. Typically when you go to a wedding you have people who think the food is blah or complain about something....everyone came to us and said on top of everything looking beautiful, that all of the food was delicious!
I highly recommend going to Danielle and her staff at the Sterling Ballroom if you want a beautiful wedding!
The venue is gorgeous!
Having our reception at the Sterling Ballroom was one of the best (and easiest) decisions we made for our wedding. The venue is GORGEOUS. So much was included in our package, and our bridal suite was EXQUISITE. You certainly get a lot for your money. The food was incredible! Our guests are still telling us how amazing the food was (and how much there was)! The service was beyond phenomenal and the entire staff made my husband and I feel special and well taken care of. Danielle and Nemo were extremely accommodating and professional. They are extremely easy to work with! Thanks for making our wedding beautiful and unforgettable!
Fantastic Wedding Experience
Danielle planned our wedding and provided the highest quality of service, for the best value in the area (Monmouth County, NJ). She responded to our requests promptly and even provided her personal cell phone number to contact her anytime. She maintained her professionalism the entire time, despite the stress of planning a wedding. She also stayed late and came to work early to accommodate our schedule when meeting with her.
The day before the wedding, Danielle was able to negotiate a reasonable rate with the hotel manager to accommodate our lodging needs, as well as last minute guests on the day of the wedding. She was very helpful.
On the day of the wedding, we were very impressed with the ballroom. It was recently renovated and looked stunning with the complimentary uplighting. The cocktail hour spread with the elite package was overwhelming, with more food than I have ever seen at a wedding. The quality of food was excellent, which sometimes lacks quality at large venues. During the reception, cocktails were served at our table before we finished the drink in our hand and the line at the bar was always short. The entree at the wedding was probably the best I have tasted. I recommend the chicken florentine.
After the wedding the manager, Nemo emerged, who had been running the cocktail hour and reception the entire time. He offered to take the gifts and miscellaneous items up to room, so we could spend time with our departing guests. He was extremely professional, which reflected the service of the entire venue. Without his hard work, I doubt the cocktail hour and reception service would have run so smoothly.
